Rodney Bay, Natural bay in Gros Islet Quarter, Saint Lucia

Rodney Bay features a horseshoe-shaped coastline with a constructed lagoon and a marina that accommodates 253 vessels of various sizes.

Admiral George Brydges Rodney established his fort at Pigeon Island in 1778 to monitor French naval movements from the neighboring island of Martinique.

The marina and surrounding area host the Atlantic Rally for Cruisers each December, bringing together 270 boats and 1,200 participants from different nations.

The marina provides specialized facilities with power supplies ranging from 30 to 100 amp, operating daily from 8 AM to 5 PM on weekdays and 8 AM to 4 PM on weekends.

The bay contains the second largest yachting facility in the Caribbean Sea, featuring 32 designated spaces for megayachts up to 285 feet in length.

Places like the Pitons near Soufrière show the island's volcanic past, while beaches such as Anse Chastanet and Jalousie Beach offer contrasts between dark and light sand. Marigot Bay and Rodney Bay serve as natural harbors that have anchored vessels for centuries. Coastal spots like Cas en Bas Beach and Grande Anse Beach show different shoreline patterns, from rocky sections to open sand.
