Yasamal cemetery, Multi-confessional cemetery in Yasamal District, Azerbaijan.
The Yasamal Cemetery extends across 0.55 hectares of land, featuring sections dedicated to Muslim, Jewish, and Christian burial traditions.
The cemetery opened its gates in 1940, developing into the largest burial ground in Baku and containing graves of military figures and political leaders.
Notable individuals interred here include jazz composer Vagif Mustafazadeh, theater actor Aliagha Aghayev, and opera singer Rubaba Muradova.
The burial ground operates under the management of Baku City Executive Power and maintains separate areas for different religious denominations.
The cemetery houses the tomb of Azerbaijan's first president, Ayaz Mutallibov, who was laid to rest within these grounds in 2022.
