Mayoralty of Baku, Baroque government building in Baku, Azerbaijan
The Mayoralty of Baku features red brick walls, colored Italian marble decorations, and a central facade displaying three golden torches of Baku.
Built between 1900 and 1904, the structure was designed by architect Józef Gosławski during Baku's rapid development period fueled by the oil industry.
The building's design draws inspiration from the Hôtel de Ville in Paris, combining European baroque elements with local architectural traditions.
Located at Istiglaliyyat Street 4 in Sabail district, the two-floor building contains administrative offices, a marble staircase, and representation rooms.
The structure served multiple functions throughout its history, from housing the City Workers' Party to becoming the Chamber of Deputies before its current role.
