Church of Michael the Archangel, Baku

The Church of Michael the Archangel is a brick church in central Baku with architectural features inspired by Pskov style. Its interior includes a prayer hall with structural elements that resemble a ship's deck.

Founded in 1850 by personnel of the Caspian Flotilla, the church originally stood on an island before being relocated to its present location in the city. This move reflected changing needs of the Russian military community in the region.
