Fountains Square, Baku

Fountains Square is a central urban space in the Sabayil district that stretches from Istiglaliyyat Street through Nizami Street and sits next to Baku Boulevard. Multiple water features shape the appearance and create a lively gathering area filled with shops, restaurants, and cafés.

The site was founded in 1868 and received its current name during the Soviet period after numerous fountains were installed throughout the area. These water features became the defining characteristic that gave the square its identity.
