Central Park, Baku, Public park in Yasamal district, Baku, Azerbaijan
Central Park is a large public park in the Yasamal district of Baku, featuring wide paved pathways, open lawns, fountains, and several recreation zones spread across the grounds. The layout is open and easy to navigate, with shaded seating areas positioned throughout to offer spots to rest.
The park opened in 2019 after a former residential neighborhood was cleared to make way for this urban development project. The entire site was built from scratch, replacing housing with open green space and public facilities.
On weekends, the park fills with families from across Baku, with children running through the open areas while adults sit on benches and chat. The pace here is slow and relaxed, giving visitors a genuine sense of how locals spend their free time.
The park is open and free to enter at any time, and it is easy to reach on foot from central Baku. On hot days, it helps to head toward the more shaded sections, as some areas of the park get a lot of direct sun.
The park has a notably high number of fountains for its size, many of which are lit up in the evenings and draw visitors who come specifically to see them after dark. This makes the park feel quite different by night compared to a daytime visit.
