Independence Museum of Azerbaijan

The Independence Museum occupies four connected exhibition halls on the second floor of a building complex, presenting Azerbaijan's path toward sovereignty through artifacts and photographs.

Established in December 1919 during the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic period, the museum operated for one year before closing under Soviet control and reopened in January 1991.

The museum collection includes 20,000 exhibits, such as archaeological findings, rare manuscripts, traditional jewelry, currencies, and documents related to Azerbaijan's independence movement.

Located near the Carpet Museum, the Independence Museum welcomes visitors Tuesday through Sunday from 9:30 AM to 5:30 PM with an entrance fee of 2 AZN.

Six chronological exhibition halls present different periods of Azerbaijan's history, from ancient times through the Karabakh conflict to the modern economic developments.
