The Museum of Modern Art of Republika Srpska contains over 1300 artworks including paintings, sculptures, graphics, aquarelles, drawings, and multimedia pieces from regional artists.
Following the 1969 earthquake in Banja Luka that destroyed numerous buildings, Yugoslav artists donated their works, leading to the establishment of an art gallery in 1971.
The museum maintains four departments dedicated to collections, documentation, education, and exhibitions, presenting both regional and international contemporary art to the public.
Located at Trg srpskih junaka 2, the museum offers educational programs, workshops, and access to a specialized library containing thousands of books and catalogs.
The Documentation Department assembles materials about regional artists and art institutions while preserving information about all museum-organized events since its inception.
