Moulin Gustot, Historic windmill in Opprebais, Belgium.
Moulin Gustot is a windmill in Incourt with white brick walls and a conical structure topped by a rotating cap mechanism. The building stands about 13 meters tall, and its adjustable cap at the peak allows the blades to turn with the wind.
The structure was first built in wood in 1826 and then rebuilt in brick by the Gustot brothers in 1850. It operated as a working mill until 1927 when production stopped.
The mill serves as a village meeting point where locals gather for celebrations and community events throughout the year. These occasions connect residents to their shared past through food, crafts, and stories tied to grain milling traditions.
The building was extensively restored between 1995 and 1998 and received new galvanized steel blades from the Netherlands after storm damage in 2012. When visiting, note that the mill sits in the village center and is best explored on foot.
This is the last remaining of four mills that operated in the area during the 19th century, including two water mills and another windmill. These remnants tell of the former abundance of local milling operations.
