Montana, Administrative center in northwestern Bulgaria
Montana is a city in northwestern Bulgaria situated on the Ogosta river within rolling terrain at an elevation of 135 meters. The area is framed by mountain ranges and combines urban development with natural slopes.
The Romans founded a military camp called Castra ad Montanesium around 29 BC, which later grew into an important settlement. This ancient presence shaped the development and structure of the region for centuries.
