Benkovski Peak reaches an elevation of 1186 meters and features steep slopes covered with beech and hornbeam forests in the Vetren Ridge.
During the April Uprising of 1876, Bulgarian revolutionaries established a fortified military camp on the peak, which Ottoman forces later destroyed.
