Bełmeken

Bełmeken is a mountain summit in Pazardzhik Province with steep slopes covered in alpine vegetation. The views from the peak extend across multiple mountain ranges in southern Bulgaria.

The peak was named after Vasil Kolarov, a Bulgarian political leader of the early 20th century. This naming reflects his influence on the nation's development during that period.

Local communities maintain traditional practices of seasonal grazing and gathering of mountain herbs in the surrounding meadows and slopes.

Several marked hiking paths lead to the summit, and winter conditions from December through March require specialized equipment. Plan for changeable weather and bring suitable footwear for steep terrain.

The area contains several high-altitude lakes and streams with specific cold-water fish species and distinctive alpine plant communities. These ecological features make the region particularly interesting for nature observers and those studying mountain ecosystems.
