Bełmeken

The summit features steep slopes covered in alpine vegetation and offers views extending across multiple mountain ranges in southern Bulgaria.

The peak received its name from Vasil Kolarov, a Bulgarian political figure who influenced the country's development in the early 20th century.

Local communities maintain traditional practices of seasonal grazing and gathering of mountain herbs in the surrounding meadows and slopes.

Multiple marked hiking paths lead to the summit, with winter conditions requiring specialized equipment from December through March.

The area contains several high-altitude lakes and streams that support specific cold-water fish species and alpine plant communities.
