Deno

The Deno summit rises to an elevation of 2,790 meters in the eastern section of the Rila Mountains, featuring steep northern slopes and grass-covered southern faces.

The mountain formed through geological processes involving gneiss and granite-gneiss, creating the current topographical features visible across its expansive slopes.

The surrounding Rila region contains numerous historical sites and traditional Bulgarian mountain communities that preserve local customs through generations.

Visitors can reach Deno via marked hiking trails from Borovets resort, with the nearby Musala hut offering accommodation 1,280 meters west of the peak.

Three glacial lakes rest within the Saragyol Cirque northeast of the summit, while a permanent firn patch occupies the northwestern gully throughout the year.
