The Bay Krastyo shelter stands at 1400 meters elevation on the northern slope of Vitosha Mountain, overlooking the Dragalevtsi district of Sofia.
In the early 20th century, mountaineer Krastyo Grozev established a fountain and built a small shelter that expanded over time into a mountain refuge.
The shelter functions as a meeting point for mountain enthusiasts, offering traditional Bulgarian meals such as baked beans and hearty soups to tired hikers.
The location serves as a starting point for multiple marked hiking trails leading to Dragalevtsi, Simeonovo, Aleko Hut, Kikish Shelter, and Kamen Del Hut.
The shelter includes a middle station of the Dragalevtsi-Goli Peak chairlift, connecting lower Sofia with the mountain's higher regions.
