Regional Municipality of Halton

The Regional Municipality of Halton is an administrative area near Toronto that brings together four towns with different characters: Burlington, Oakville, Milton, and Halton Hills. These places range from urban neighborhoods to farmland and green spaces.

The area was founded in 1854 as Halton County and became a regional municipality in 1974. This change reorganized how local government and services worked for the growing population.
