Mount St. Louis Moonstone, Ski resort in Oro-Medonte, Canada
Mount St. Louis Moonstone is a ski resort in central Ontario featuring 35 runs across multiple slopes suited to different skill levels. The terrain is organized into sections ranging from gentle beginner areas to steeper advanced terrain, with a total vertical rise of 168 meters.
The site was established in 1964 when Austrian ski champion Josl Huter acquired the land and built the original facilities. Since its founding by this experienced skier, the resort has grown into a well-established winter sports destination for the region.
The resort serves as a gathering place for the regional winter sports community, with local families and school groups regularly visiting throughout the season. It functions as a social hub where residents experience winter sports together.
The resort operates twelve lifts including an eight-person chairlift that together move a large capacity of visitors up the mountain each hour. The lift system is designed to provide good access to different slope sections for skiers of all abilities.
The resort operates snow-making equipment across every run to maintain consistent conditions throughout the winter season. This ability to produce snow allows skiing to continue even when natural snowfall is light.
