Stade de la Paix, Football stadium in Bouaké, Ivory Coast.
Stade de la Paix is a football stadium in Bouaké, the second largest city in Ivory Coast, built around an athletics track and enclosed by covered stands with seats painted in the colors of the Ivorian flag. The main stand on the western side contains VIP areas, and the whole venue is surrounded by several parking zones.
The stadium was built in 1984 to host the Africa Cup of Nations, which made it one of the main sports venues in the country from early on. A full renovation completed in 2023 modernized the facilities and brought the venue up to current international standards.
The name 'Stade de la Paix' means Peace Stadium and refers to a reconciliation ceremony held in Bouaké in 2007. For locals, the place carries a meaning that goes beyond sport, and this feeling is often visible in the way people gather and celebrate here.
The stadium is easy to reach from different sides of Bouaké and has large parking areas around the venue. Arriving ahead of time helps avoid the crowd near the entrances, especially on match days.
Three local football clubs, ASC Bouaké, Alliance Bouaké, and Bouaké Football Club, all share this stadium as their home ground. This means matches take place here almost every weekend, making it a regular part of city life rather than just a venue for big events.
