Domaine Bini Lagune, Eco-tourism site on Aghien Lagoon in Cocody Koffakoi, Côte d'Ivoire.
Domaine Bini Lagune is an ecotourism site located near Aghien Lagoon, featuring primary forest mixed with cultivated rubber and cocoa plantations spread across the area. The land spans natural vegetation alongside farmland, with multiple pathways for visitors to explore and several structures for accommodation and dining.
Jean-Marc Bini created this project to protect forest land while opening it to visitors seeking to learn about the environment. The site evolved from private land into an educational space focused on conservation and sustainable land use.
The villages nearby have preserved ways of farming cocoa and rubber through family traditions that shape how the land is used today. Visitors encounter these methods directly while walking through working fields and learning from people who live there.
Plan a visit during the dry season when trails are in better condition and the lagoon is easier to navigate on foot. Wear sturdy shoes and bring water, as the walk through the property involves uneven terrain and shaded forest paths.
Guests can stay overnight in small cabins built directly over the lagoon water, where candlelit meals and storytelling happen after dark. This floating accommodation offers a rarely found way to spend a night immersed in the lagoon environment.
