Basilique Marie-Reine-des-Apôtres, Minor basilica in Mvolyé district, Yaoundé, Cameroon.
The basilica stands 32 meters high and 75 meters wide, supported by twelve columns that represent the twelve apostles of Christ.
The first Catholic missionaries arrived at Mfoundi region in 1901, where Father Heinrich Vieter established the initial mission on land given by Chief Essomba Mebe.
The stained glass windows, created by Henri Guérin, form a 100-square-meter colored fresco that decorates the interior of the religious building.
The basilica contains 4000 seats and receives visitors daily, with regular mass services conducted under the administration of the Archdiocese of Yaoundé.
A 3.5-meter-tall Black Madonna statue, carved from sacred tree wood, stands within the basilica alongside an altar made of solid granite.
