Our Lady of Victories Cathedral, Yaoundé, Catholic cathedral in central Yaoundé, Cameroon.

Our Lady of Victories Cathedral in Yaoundé is a Catholic church at the rond-point de la Poste centrale, built to hold about 5,000 worshippers. Its interior is laid out in the shape of a cross, and construction begun in 1952 is still unfinished. A 1983 Cameroonian stamp reproduced its Melchisedek stained-glass window.

During the Second World War, Bishop François-Xavier Vogt vowed to build a sanctuary to Our Lady if Cameroon emerged largely unharmed; he died in 1943, before the war ended. On 4 March 1952, Archbishop René Graffin, first archbishop of Yaoundé, laid the foundation stone. The cathedral was consecrated in 1955, and more than fifty years later its construction is still unfinished.

The cathedral serves as the primary center of religious life in Yaoundé, drawing believers from across the city to its services. Major ceremonies and gatherings here shape the spiritual rhythm of the Christian community.

The building is located near the central post office and is easily accessible on foot. Regular religious services take place here, and visitors interested in sacred architecture are welcomed.

The building has undergone continuous development and expansion, changing its architecture over more than seven decades. These ongoing improvements show how the structure adapted to the evolving needs of the community.
