International Relations Institute of Cameroon

The International Relations Institute of Cameroon teaches diplomacy, international law, and global governance through undergraduate and graduate programs at its campus in Yaoundé.

Created by presidential decree in 1971, the institute underwent a major restructuring in 1993 to expand its focus beyond diplomatic training to broader international careers.

The institute maintains Observer Status at African Union assemblies and summits, representing perspectives from nations in the southern hemisphere at global diplomatic forums.

Students must hold a first degree from an accredited institution to enter the two-year master's program, which covers diplomatic history and strategic studies.

The oldest diplomatic school south of the Sahara Desert trains professionals through three distinct cycles: Diplomatic Refresher, Professional Post-Graduate, and Doctorate studies.
