Lu Xun's tomb, Granite tomb in Lu Xun Park, Hongkou District, China.

Lu Xun's tomb is a granite monument located in the northwestern corner of Lu Xun Park, occupying approximately 1,600 square meters (17,222 square feet) of space. Memorial trees surround the site, creating a quiet setting around the burial ground.

The writer was initially buried at Wanguo Cemetery in 1936, but his remains were moved to this permanent location in 1956 through a ceremonial transfer. This relocation underscored his importance in shaping China's cultural development.

The inscription bears calligraphy by Mao Zedong, reflecting how this writer's legacy shaped Chinese literary thought. Visitors come to honor the contributions of one of the country's most influential authors.

The site is accessible via Hongkou Football Stadium Station on Shanghai Metro Lines 3 and 8, providing easy access from the city center. The park remains open from early morning until evening, allowing visitors flexibility in planning their visit.

Trees planted by Premier Zhou Enlai and Lu Xun's wife Xu Guangping stand at the memorial, creating a living link to key figures in modern Chinese history. These growing plants silently tell stories of personal connections that span decades.
