Tung Lin Kok Yuen

Tung Lin Kok Yuen spans 12,000 square feet and includes a Buddhist temple, educational facilities, and spaces for approximately 30 nuns and 50 lay practitioners.

Lady Clara Ho-Tung established the monastery in 1935 with funds received from her husband Robert Ho-Tung as a 50th wedding anniversary gift.

The monastery operates as a seminary for Buddhist nuns, providing an 8-year curriculum in Mahayana Buddhism along with primary education and vocational training.

The monastery maintains regular Dharma courses, memorial services, and educational programs throughout the year, welcoming both residents and visitors.

The building features an arrowhead shape resembling a ship, incorporating both Chinese architectural elements like glazed tile roofs and Western structural designs.
