Olympic station, Metro station in Yau Tsim Mong District, Hong Kong.
Olympic station is a ground-level metro station in the Yau Tsim Mong District of Hong Kong, located along Lin Cheung Road with two separate side platforms. A rectangular concourse connects both platforms and provides access to the Island Harbourview Bus Terminus nearby.
The station was originally planned as Tai Kok Tsui during the Airport Core Programme of the 1990s and was renamed in December 1996. The new name was chosen to mark the connection to that year's Olympic Games.
The station is named in honor of Hong Kong athletes who won gold medals at the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta. Visitors moving through the concourse can spot tributes to these athletes displayed along the way.
The station sits at street level and is easy to reach on foot without any significant changes in elevation. Since the two platforms are physically separate, it is worth checking the direction of travel before passing through the fare gates.
The Tuen Ma line runs beneath the eastern part of the station, yet there is no transfer point between the two lines here. Passengers who need to switch lines must continue to Nam Cheong station to make the connection.
