Church of the Intercession

The Church of the Intercession is an Orthodox place of worship in Tianjin with white walls and multiple domes that rise above the surrounding cityscape. The structure displays characteristic features of Russian Orthodox architecture and stands out distinctly in the urban landscape.

The church was built in 1925 when many Russian emigrants arrived in Tianjin following the upheaval of 1917 in their homeland. The structure was created to provide these refugees with a place for prayer and worship in their new city.
