Guang'anmen, Ming Dynasty city gate in Xicheng District, Beijing, China.

The gate structure measured 17.6 meters in height, 13.8 meters in length, and 6 meters in width, featuring a double-story tower design.

Built during Emperor Jiajing's reign between 1521 and 1567, Guang'anmen served as the southwestern entrance to Beijing until its removal for the Second Ring Road.

The name changed from Guangningmen to Guang'anmen by decree of the Daoguang Emperor, with the meaning translating to Gate of Expansive Peace.

The former gate location connects to Line 7 of the Beijing Subway system, with the surrounding area developing into a commercial district.

The Guang'anmen Incident of July 26, 1937 marked a turning point in the Second Sino-Japanese War during the Chinese forces retreat from Beijing.
