The temple incorporates elements of traditional Chinese architecture with multiple halls arranged in a symmetrical layout across several courtyards toward Mount Emei.
Originally named Lingshan Temple in 880 AD during the Tang Dynasty, the structure received its current name during later imperial periods.
The temple halls contain numerous Buddhist statues, including representations of Sakyamuni and the Three Saints of Huayan, reflecting Chinese Buddhist traditions.
Visitors can explore the temple grounds through guided tours that explain the significance of different halls and architectural features throughout the complex.
The temple houses a fourteen-story bronze Huayan Pagoda containing 4,700 Buddha statues and displays the complete text of the Huayan Sutra.
