Nob Hill, Hong Kong

Nob Hill is a private housing estate in Lai Chi Kok comprising three tall residential buildings with around 700 units and an integrated shopping center called Nob Hill Square. The complex features parking spaces, a clubhouse, and sports facilities alongside the residential towers.

The estate was built in 2002 by Cheung Kong Holdings and Far East Hotels and Entertainment on the site of the former Lai Chi Kok Amusement Park. This location shift marked the transformation of a recreation area into a modern residential complex.

The name 'Nob Hill' references affluent residential areas in American cities and reflects the upscale character of this housing estate. Residents use shared spaces and the integrated shopping plaza to interact with neighbors and build community ties throughout their daily routines.

The estate is well connected by public transport, particularly through the Lai Chi Kok Bus Terminus, which provides access to multiple districts for residents and visitors. The entire estate was transferred to Sham Shui Po District in 2007, even though it originally spanned two districts, to simplify administrative management. This change demonstrates how urban boundaries were redrawn to better manage large residential complexes.
