Kwai Chung Park, Public park in Kwai Tsing District, Hong Kong.
Kwai Chung Park is a public park in Kwai Tsing District covering 10 hectares with dense vegetation and trees spread across hilly ground. The park provides sports fields, playgrounds, jogging tracks, and walking paths for different activities.
The site formerly housed two dairy farms in the 1950s that were the only ones operating in the New Territories at that time. These farms shaped the area before it eventually became a park.
The Stone House from the 1950s stands within the park and displays modernist design through its flat roof and curved walls that reflect building styles of that era. Visitors walking through can observe how architecture embodied new thinking at the time.
The park has badminton courts, jogging tracks, and open spaces suitable for tai chi practice that welcome many visitors. The paths are well-maintained and the hilly terrain offers options for different activity levels.
The park is a notable spot for bird watchers and provides habitat for around 71 different bird species found throughout its grounds. This diversity draws visitors interested in observing birds in their natural surroundings.
