Kwai Tsing District, Administrative district in Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, China.

Kwai Tsing is an administrative district in Hong Kong that combines two main areas: Kwai Chung on the mainland and Tsing Yi Island. The area contains extensive container terminals along the Rambler Channel and clusters of high-rise buildings that define its skyline.

The area was originally part of Tsuen Wan district until 1985, when it became its own administrative division. This split marked the start of rapid change from rural villages into a modern industrial and logistics hub.

The district keeps its ties to Hakka communities whose descendants have lived here for generations and continue local traditions. These roots still shape how people interact and celebrate together today.

The district is shaped by extensive public housing complexes that accommodate most of its residents. Good transportation connections through roads and public transit make it easy to navigate between different areas.

The Tsing Ma Bridge, one of the world's longest suspension bridges, connects the northwestern island to the international airport and is an impressive feat of engineering. It serves as both a vital transportation link and a distinctive landmark in the regional skyline.
