Hengqin Port is a modern border checkpoint between Zhuhai and Macau with separate terminals for pedestrians and vehicles. The facility has multiple levels with waiting areas, counters, and control stations that allow passage between the two regions.
The port opened in 2020 and improved connections between Guangdong and Macau as part of a major regional development program. This new border gateway was designed to enhance travel and cooperation between the areas.
The port complex includes retail spaces, office towers, and public areas that reflect the architectural elements of both Guangdong Province and Macau Special Administrative Region.
The port has separate entry and exit points to improve traffic flow, and visitors should keep their documents ready. There are restrooms, cafés, and shops on multiple levels to help pass the time.
The port building integrates a direct connection to both the Guangzhou-Zhuhai Intercity Railway and the Macau Light Rapid Transit system through underground passages.
