Jardim da Cidade das Flores, Chinese garden in Taipa, Macau.
Jardim da Cidade das Flores is an urban park in Taipa with pavilions, lotus ponds, and traditional Chinese garden elements arranged throughout the space. The layout spans between Evola Street and Olympic Road, creating distinct areas for different activities and relaxation.
The park opened in March 1998 as part of Macau's effort to create green spaces within the residential neighborhoods of Taipa district. This project reflected the growing need to provide community areas for recreation during that period.
The garden follows the style of classical Suzhou gardens, with carved stone walls, small bridges, and rock formations arranged according to traditional Chinese principles. These features create a space where visitors experience authentic East Asian garden design firsthand.
The space is open daily from 6:30 AM to 10:00 PM with no entry fees, making it accessible to visitors at any time. It includes designated areas for children, roller skating zones, and spaces where community events regularly take place.
The lotus flowers in the pond reach their peak bloom from April through September, creating pronounced seasonal transformations in the garden's appearance. During these months, the space draws more visitors who come to witness this temporary botanical display.
