Hang Seng Bank New Headquarters Building

The 27-story headquarters is a modern bank building with two concrete service cores positioned at the east and west ends, creating column-free office spaces inside. This structural design allows for open, flexible work areas that adapt to various business needs.

The building was constructed on the site of the former Central Fire Station, purchased in 1987 for 840 million dollars. This land transaction represented one of Hong Kong's most expensive property deals at the time.

The interior displays a stainless steel mural inspired by the 'A City of Cathay' scroll, showing scenes of daily life in a traditional Chinese town. This artwork reflects the bank's connection to local cultural heritage and creates a distinctive visual experience for visitors.

The building sits at 83 Des Voeux Road Central and connects to an elevated walkway network and the Mid-Levels escalator system. These access points make it easy to reach this location and explore the surrounding business district.

The banking hall features counters extending over 190 meters with space for around 150 teller positions, making it one of the city's largest banking facilities. The scale of this area gives a sense of the volume and pace of banking operations in Hong Kong.
