Kowloon Tsai Swimming Pool, Swimming center in Kowloon City District, Hong Kong.
Kowloon Tsai Swimming Pool is a public swimming facility in Kowloon City with a 50-meter main pool, a leisure pool, and a children's pool. The venue has spectator stands that accommodate around 1000 visitors.
This facility opened on June 5, 1964, as the first public swimming pool in Kowloon. The project was largely funded by the Royal Hong Kong Jockey Club.
The facility serves as a gathering place for swimmers in a densely built neighborhood where public recreation areas are scarce. Locals use it regularly for exercise and leisure, making it part of the district's daily life.
The facility offers heated swimming pools from mid-November to mid-April for added comfort during cooler months. Weekly maintenance work happens during morning hours, so visitors should plan accordingly.
Operations originally ended at 4:00 PM because the facility lay under the flight path of the old Kai Tak Airport. This restriction prevented the installation of outdoor lighting for evening use.
