Fusi Mountain, Mountain summit in Ningxiang, China.
Fusi Mountain is a granite summit in southwestern Ningxiang County, rising 410 meters above sea level as part of the Xuefeng Mountains range. Multiple hiking trails wind through its natural terrain, taking visitors through the forested slopes of this Hunan peak.
A Buddhist-Taoist temple called Jinfeng was built on the summit during the Tang Dynasty era and served as a worship space for multiple spiritual traditions. The structure was demolished in the 1950s, ending the mountain's role as an active religious site.
The mountain's temple complex combined Buddhist and Taoist practices, with dedicated spaces for worshipping both Guanyin and the Jade Emperor.
The mountain sits in a natural setting with trails that can be steep in sections, so sturdy footwear is recommended. Bring plenty of water and stay alert on the paths, especially when conditions are wet.
The peak ranks fourth among Ningxiang County's highest mountains and features a prominence of 257 meters that makes it stand out in local geography. This measurement means the mountain rises distinctly above its surrounding terrain in ways that visitors can sense while climbing.
