Experiminta, Science center in Frankfurt, Germany
Experiminta is a science center in Frankfurt with over 120 hands-on stations covering physics, mathematics, engineering, and natural sciences. The exhibition is spread across several themed areas and is open to visitors of all ages who want to try things out for themselves.
Experiminta opened in March 2011 as an educational initiative in Frankfurt aimed at making science and mathematics accessible to a wide audience. It was set up to fill a gap in the city for a place where people could explore these subjects through direct experience.
At Experiminta, children and adults try out experiments side by side without needing any prior knowledge. Regular science shows bring specific topics from physics or mathematics to life in a hands-on way.
The layout allows visitors to move freely and try stations in any order without following a set path. Setting aside at least two to three hours gives enough time to explore most areas without rushing.
Experiminta has a flight simulation program where visitors can try out cockpit instruments and practice basic navigation techniques. This gives a direct sense of how pilots experience spatial orientation and control.
