Wildparadies Tripsdrill, Wildlife park in Cleebronn, Germany
Wildparadies Tripsdrill is a wildlife park in Treffentrill, Baden-Württemberg, covering 47 hectares, mostly wooded. It houses about 50 animal species, some in open enclosures, including Dybowski deer, mouflons, yaks, Heck cattle, wolves, lynxes, brown bears and polar wolves. A 1,400-seat arena hosts regular bird-of-prey demonstrations with white-tailed eagles, griffon vultures and an Andean condor.
A zoo with 300 animals, including bears, monkeys, goats, sheep, zebras and ponies, opened in 1957 next to the Altweibermühle as the predecessor of today's wildlife park. The Wildparadies itself has existed since 1972 as an independent facility beside the Tripsdrill adventure park. In 2018 it was expanded with an open enclosure for the otter, which is endangered in Germany, and a separate enclosure for the European wildcat.
The bird of prey show features species from around the world, including white-headed eagles, monk vultures, griffon vultures, Andean condors and a black caracara, not only native birds. The stands hold up to 1,400 spectators. Feeding times for selected species are commented, and quiz questions on biology line the trails.
The 47-hectare site is mostly wooded, with circular trails prepared as biology quizzes and a barefoot path, forest adventure trail and adventure playground alongside the enclosures. The bird-of-prey show tribune holds up to 1,400 standing and seated visitors and looks out over the falconry area. Commented feeding sessions take place at selected species.
The park's bird of prey show has a grandstand with standing and seated places for up to 1,400 visitors, giving a view over the falconry area. Among the birds shown are white-headed eagles, monk vultures, griffon vultures, a red kite, a black kite and an Andean condor. A separate aviary range holds species such as the great grey owl, saker falcon, barn owl, snowy owl, black stork, kestrel, eagle owl and Harris's hawk.
