Ramberger Waldhaus Drei Buchen, Mountain hut in Palatinate Forest, Germany.
Ramberger Waldhaus Drei Buchen is a stone refuge building in the Palatinate Forest, located at 415 meters elevation in a landscape of beech, oak, and conifer trees. The shelter sits along established hiking trails that connect different parts of the forest network.
The shelter is part of a network of over 100 mountain huts managed by the Pfälzerwald-Verein throughout the Palatinate Forest region. These refuges were established to provide hikers with protected stopping points across the area.
In 2021, the German UNESCO Commission recognized this mountain hut as part of Germany's Intangible Cultural Heritage collection.
The shelter can be reached by a short walk from the parking area at Three Buchen Pass. The approach takes just a few minutes on foot through the forest.
The location marks the boundary between Ramberger Valley and Modenbach Valley, where both rivers eventually flow into the Rhine. This geographical position makes it a special point between two river valleys.
