Kloster Mörmter

Kloster Mörmter is a Franciscan monastery on a roughly 8-hectare property in Xanten, featuring traditional monastic buildings and spaces for prayer and contemplation. The complex follows classic patterns of religious architecture and is surrounded by green grounds.

The monastery was founded in 1921 by Franciscan monks from Dorsten and served as a military hospital during World War II. About 80 soldiers died there during the war.
