Friedrich-Mohr-Denkmal, Bronze monument at Eichendorff-Gymnasium, Koblenz, Germany.
The Friedrich-Mohr-Denkmal is a bronze bust of scientist Karl Friedrich Mohr positioned on a pedestal beside the Eichendorff-Gymnasium in Koblenz. The statue stands at Friedrich-Ebert-Ring 56068 following its reinstallation in October 2022.
Sculptor Hugo Cauer from Bad Kreuznach created this monument, which was inaugurated on June 21, 1914 at Kaiser-Wilhelm-Ring with support from the city of Koblenz. The monument connects to Mohr's founding of a predecessor school at this location in 1855.
The monument commemorates Karl Friedrich Mohr, a scientist whose work shaped the school at this location. Visitors can understand part of Koblenz's educational history through this recognition.
The monument is easily accessible at the edge of the school building on the street side. Visitors can approach the site at any time of day and view it from outside without requiring entry.
Beyond the bust itself, original bronze plaques depicting Mohr's legacy are preserved separately in the Mittelrhein Museum. These distinct parts together tell a fuller story of his importance.
