St. Fideliskirche, Catholic church in Stuttgart-West, Germany
The St. Fidelis Church features a basilica-style structure with a high gabled facade, vertical articulation, and a cross mounted on a sphere at its peak.
Built between 1924 and 1925 by architect Clemens Hummel, the church suffered severe damage during World War II and underwent reconstruction under architect Hugo Schlösser.
The interior displays Georg Meistermann's stained glass windows and Stations of the Cross, while Martin Bruno Schmid created liturgical elements from limestone monoliths.
Located at the intersection of Rosenbergstrasse and Seidenstrasse, the church stands near the Diakonie Hospital Stuttgart and Hoppenlau School with public transport access.
The 2019 renovation introduced a meditation room with six portal doors and a wooden chancel, allowing natural light to illuminate the contemplation space.
