Salzburger Hochthron, Mountain peak in Grödig, Salzburg, Austria

Salzburger Hochthron is the highest summit in the Austrian part of the Untersberg massif, reaching 1,853 metres on the border between Grödig in Salzburg and the Schellenberger Forst in Bavaria. About 500 metres north of the summit, at the Geiereck (1,805 m), stands the mountain station of the Untersbergbahn cable car. Marked trails such as the Dopplersteig, Reitsteig and Thomas-Eder-Steig lead to the top and demand surefootedness and good fitness.
