Heinrich-Völker-Bad, Public swimming complex in Worms, Germany
Heinrich-Völker-Bad is a public swimming facility in Worms featuring both indoor and outdoor pools. The complex includes a 25-meter indoor pool, a 50-meter outdoor competition pool, diving platforms of various heights, and separate pools designed for children and non-swimmers.
Plans for the facility began with a swimming association formed in 1936, but World War II significantly delayed the project. The swimming complex opened to the public on November 20, 1965.
The swimming complex serves as a central recreational facility for Worms residents, providing swimming lessons, fitness courses, and competitive training opportunities throughout the year.
The facility is straightforward to navigate with clear zones for different age groups and swimming levels. Visit during early morning hours when crowds are smaller and more space is available for all visitors.
During winter months, an inflatable dome structure called Luftikus is installed over the 50-meter outdoor pool. This allows swimming and training to continue year-round, even in cold weather conditions.
