Jaeger barracks, Military barracks in Trier-Nord, Germany

Jaeger barracks is a complex of several large buildings in northern Trier constructed in the early 20th century following military design standards. The site consists of solid brick structures with large windows and plain, functional design without ornamental decoration.

The barracks were built in 1910 as a posting for German army infantry units and remained active until the end of World War II. Afterward the site changed hands several times and has been empty for years, though the original buildings have largely survived.

The site takes its name from the jaeger troops that were stationed here, and the buildings display typical features of early 20th-century military architecture. Visitors can still see today the facades with their plain, functional forms that were characteristic of barracks from that era.

The site is located in the Trier-Nord district and can be viewed from outside, though it is currently not open for visits. The brick buildings appear sturdy and easy to take in at a glance, as they are arranged in a straightforward layout.

The complex is remarkable because it has retained its original building structure despite two world wars and multiple changes in use. This makes it a rare example of early military architecture in the region that has hardly changed.
