Grasbrookpark, Public park in HafenCity, Hamburg, Germany
Grasbrookpark spans 7,000 square meters between Marco-Polo-Terraces and Überseequartier subway station, with 2,200 square meters of grass areas and 63 trees.
The park began as a temporary playground in June 2008 during U-Bahn Line 4 construction and received its final form in August 2013.
Local children from Katharinenschule and nearby daycare centers contributed ideas for the park design, including the palm climbing forest and play structures.
The park includes wooden benches, fitness equipment, picnic areas, and water features, all accessible through the adjacent Überseequartier U-Bahn station.
Hedge-ships made from different tree species form natural boundaries within the park while protecting visitors from surrounding street traffic.
