Grasbrookpark, Public park in HafenCity, Hamburg, Germany

Grasbrookpark is a 7,100-square-metre neighbourhood park in HafenCity, between the Marco-Polo-Terrassen and the Überseequartier U4 station. Its centre is a large wooden play area with a pirate ship on sand, a climbing forest with suspension bridges and a treehouse slide, and a hand-woven willow labyrinth. About 2,000 square metres are lawn and planting, with some 60 trees at opening.

The site began as a temporary playground in summer 2008 while U-Bahn Line 4 was under construction. It took several more years before it received its current form once the surrounding infrastructure was completed.

The space reflects how the local community shaped its design through input from nearby children and families. Play areas and planted sections show the influence of those who use it daily.

The park is directly accessible from the U-Bahn station, making it easy to reach and visit. Visitors can use the various seating areas and facilities regardless of the season, though outdoor conditions will vary with the weather.

The park's most labour-intensive element is a willow labyrinth built by hand by labyrinth maker Frank Thimm and his team; it serves for climbing and hiding and gives shade in summer. The pirate ship with lookout and rocking rescue boat was moved here from the earlier playground and stands on sand.
