Parkschule Weimar is a four-story building made of tuffstone with sandstone trim located at Rathenauplatz. The structure provides space for numerous classrooms and dominates a corner of the neighborhood with its solid, historical presence.
The building was constructed between 1886 and 1888 as the Bürgerschule Weimar and suffered damage during the war in 1945. It was repaired and returned to use for education afterward.
The school focuses on three core values: living together, working together, and preparing for the future together through various educational programs and activities.
The school building sits centrally at a notable plaza and is easy to reach by public transportation. Visitors can view the exterior architecture from the street and explore the surrounding area.
The building underwent major renovation in 2019 and was completely updated inside while keeping its historic exterior look. This blend of modern facilities within the old-fashioned appearance makes it a notable example of thoughtful restoration work.
