Odeon of Agrippa, Ancient Roman theater in Ancient Agora, Greece
The Odeon features stone seating arrangements around a marble-paved orchestra section, with Corinthian columns surrounding the central performance hall.
Marcus Vipsanius Agrippa commissioned this theater between 16-14 BC, which stood until its roof collapsed in 150 AD, leading to a reconstruction.
The structure operated as both a theater for musical performances and a lecture hall, accommodating up to 1,000 spectators in its original configuration.
Visitors can explore the archaeological remains through the Ancient Agora complex, which includes the foundations and architectural elements of the structure.
The building's northern facade incorporated massive pillars shaped as giants with snake tails and tritons with fish tails after its second-century reconstruction.
