Allatini Villa, Protected building in Ntepo, Thessaloniki, Greece.
Allatini Villa is a three-story baroque building on Vasilissis Olgas Avenue in Thessaloniki. It features richly decorated facades and ornamental details designed by architect Vitaliano Poselli.
The building was constructed in the early 1900s and has served multiple purposes since then. Between 1909 and 1911, it housed the deposed Sultan Abdul Hamid II during his house arrest.
The villa displays Italian architectural influence that spread through Greece in the late 1800s. Its baroque decorations and facade elements show the European taste favored by wealthy families of that era.
The building currently serves administrative functions and is not open for interior visits. However, its distinctive exterior can be easily viewed and photographed from the street.
The villa was originally the residence of the wealthy Allatini family before later becoming a university building. During World War II it also served as a hospital before being converted into an administrative center.
