Bourgogne le chapitre, Wine estate in Chenôve, France
Bourgogne le chapitre is a winery with about 5 hectares of vineyards on east-facing slopes at the northern end of the Côte de Nuits, producing red, white, and rosé wines. The estate's position on these slopes allows it to develop grapes with distinctive characteristics shaped by their exposure and elevation.
The estate originally belonged to the Chapter of Autun Collegiate Church, representing a piece of a 1,200-hectare wine region surrounding Dijon in the 19th century. This connection to a former church organization explains the name Chapitre and its place in the modern appellation system.
The winemakers here follow traditional methods, focusing on Pinot Noir for red wines and Chardonnay for whites according to Bourgogne appellation rules. These time-tested approaches shape how visitors experience the place and understand its winemaking identity.
The site offers wine tastings, guided tours, and direct sales and is easy to reach from both Dijon and the main Burgundy wine route. Plan visits during harvest season when vineyard activity is most visible and the winemaking process is in full swing.
The estate received special recognition in 1993 to add its name to the Bourgogne appellation, an honor shared with only three other sites. This distinction reflects the quality and individuality the winemakers have established over time.
