L'Oxygénarium

L'Oxygénarium is a water slide ride at Parc Astérix where circular rafts descend a 20-meter drop before drifting through landscaped areas and a brick-lined river channel. The entire route stretches about 400 meters from start to finish.

This ride opened in 1999 and was designed to achieve strong theming despite working with limited construction resources. The creative approach to balancing detail and budget eventually earned recognition from the themed entertainment industry.

The ride tells the story of Ferdinand de Teffélé's 1900 invention, which purifies oxygen through an intricate system of pipes and pumps.

Visitors shorter than 130 centimeters need an adult companion to ride, while taller guests can go alone. It helps to know that you will get wet, so plan to protect valuables and bring a change of clothes if needed.

The 195-meter track combines spinning raft mechanics with themed elements, creating a water adventure that differs from standard river rides.
